Life Is Good Award!

I would like to thank the lovely and talented Belinda from The Bookish Snob for passing this sweet award onto me and my site!

The award directions are: To accept the award you must link back and thank the person who gave you the Life is Good award. Answer the 10 questions and pass it along to 6 other blogs.

1. If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
I do not blog anonymously, nor did I start out that way. I got into book blogging after working on my official website for my book series, Of Witches and Warlocks, for about a year. I was enjoying the interaction I was having with readers from around the world, and we would often discuss the other great books that were out there. Since I was already reading and lightly reviewing for my Goodreads account, I decided (with my best friend’s encouragement) to start a book blog as well.

2. Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
I refused to buy a DVD player when they first came out because I had so much money invested into VHS already. I was mad at the industry for switching it up on me. I got over it and eventually bought a DVD player and now I’m currently revolting over Blu-Ray because I have so much invested in DVD’s! *rolls eyes at self* I wouldn’t have any problem giving up my laptop for an ipad though! Go figure!

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?

Ha ha! Is this a trick question? Usually a bad hair day! LOL All joking aside though, I see myself as a person who has high hopes for the future. I am always hoping to improve and get better at things as I move through the journey of my life.

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Water, water, water! I drink water almost exclusively! Every now and then I might have a little punch at a party or a can of soda if nothing else is available, but I am definitely a water girl!

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Well, when I’m not writing, I like to read, of course, go to the movies, or catch up on some of my favorite T.V. shows. I also love photography and working with digital medias. I am a HUGE football fan too, so if I can go catch a game somewhere I really enjoy doing that! I call football my weekly therapy session. I can jump up and down, yell and scream all I want, and no one cares because they are all doing the same thing! LOL It’s lots of fun!

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
I love writing, and I would like to continue having books published, so I am currently working on a few new stories. I would also like to get a little more into the publishing business. My BFF and I have talked about opening our own publishing house in the future, or having our own review company. I think that would be a lot of fun. What is my big dream at the moment? I would love seeing my current book series made into a movie starring my favorite actor, the super incredible Matt Lanter. Yep! That’s right people! I like to dream BIG!

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person, or always ditching?
I was actually a little bit of everything. I was in music and theater classes, and I was a cheerleader too, so I was used to performing a lot in front of people. I was sometimes reserved when meeting new people, but it didn’t take me long to warm up to my natural goofy self! I was an overachiever in the subjects that I liked, and was perfectly happy with ditching the subjects I didn’t. My favorite subject in school….BOYS! Hmmmm, come to think of it, that’s still my favorite subject! Ha ha I was the “Make Out Queen”!

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see?
This is a hard one for me. That would be when my mom died. She was my very best friend, through my entire life. Always there for me in every aspect, whether things were good or bad. She passed away due to complications that resulted after an accident. She was still so young, only 57 years old. It was devastating to me. She would have been the person I normally would have turned to, who would have helped me through an experience like that. Having her gone left a gaping void in my life that will never be filled. But I try to be positive, so the silver lining in this would be that I have had to learn to be stronger, more self reliant.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
I think I feel fairly comfortable with both things, depending on what I’m writing about. I don’t mind getting personal with people and letting them see pieces of me mirrored in my work. I also enjoy writing about other people’s accomplishments, especially when I see someone or something that really stands out in a remarkable way!

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
If my best friend is not involved in that question, then I would definitely sit down to read. But, the fact-of-the matter is that she and I probably hold the texting record of the universe right now. Sometimes we are reading AND texting together…you really can do both! Why? Because we love to talk about EVERYTHING!
