Brotherhood

After Jugo was taken by the QRPT to rest, Ragnar walked away proud. As he was eating, Kagura rushed at him.

  Kagura: Fight me!

Ragnar: *sigh* Can't catch a break today I see.

Kagura wasn't on the same tier as Jugo, but his herculean strength was more than enough to earn Ragnar's attention. The two physical juggernauts fought all throughout the third floor. Kagura uncharacteristically called a stop to the fight out of nowhere.

Ragnar: What's this? Is everything alright?

Kagura: No, I still haven't used the hammer again. It's getting a little dissipating.

Ragnar: Disappointing. I understand young man. This isn't a typical weapon than anyone can just use, it was specifically designed by the gods. Only the worthy can even lift this thing. The summoning responds to your heart.

Kagura: But I've summoned it before! I just want the power you guys have. If I could get stronger, I could protect my friends.

As Kagura held his head low, he noticed a bit of extra weight in his hand. He turned to see that the hammer was in his grasp. He remained quiet, slowly analyzing the hammer. The handle was cold and soft to the touch. The lack of weight was surprising, but Kagura could feel the raw power he wielded.

Ragnar: Congratulations young man. I couldn't just tell you outright, but that is what I meant. This hammer can only be wielded by the truly strong. You need to be the armor for your friends. Remember your vow to grow stronger to protect them and the weapon will answer your call.

Kagura: Thank you. I won't let you down!

Ragnar: That weapon is known as my own, keep the fact that you can use it between us alright? I think that secret can be used against the Warden.

  Kagura: I understand.

Kagura ran off in excitement in a flash. He was determined to go practice with the hammer in secret. In the training room, Toshiro was taking notes on a very interesting match. Red and Raioten were brawling as they had in the past. Even though they fought multiple times each day, Toshiro tried to get to each one in order to spectate.

With so many consistent fights between the two, Toshiro had plenty of data to work with. As the kids fought, he whispered to himself. He tried predicting each of their next moves. Toshiro was ecstatic seeing the consistent growth of everyone who was working to escape. Unsurprisingly, Red walked away victorious. Her superior skill was too much for Raioten to deal with.

After losing many times back to back, Raioten called it quits and stormed off. As he entered the workout room, Raioten was hit with the during angel of sweat. The air was heavy and humid as well. As he looked around, he noticed Kagura standing on his own in a far corner. Raioten walked towards Kagura and noticed his breathing. His breaths were deep and raspy.

Raioten tapped on Kagura's shoulder and immediately had to duck in order to dodge a rage fueled back fist. As the young boys locked eyes, Raioten could see the fear and pain in Kagura's eyes.

Kagura: Bro.. it's you, I'm sorry.

Raioten tilted his head a bit.

Kagura: I can't... I'm not supposed to talk about it. It's just a lot going on.

Raioten raised one of his eyebrows. He pointed to his mouth and shook his head.

Kagura: Oh yeah! You can't exactly share this secret anyway!

Raioten nodded and watched the stress fade from Kagura's eyes. His shoulders lowered as he began to explain his struggles with the hammer. Raioten sat on the ground, eagerly listening to Kagura's woes.

Kagura rambled on and on. He relished in how easy it was to vent to someone who wouldn't say anything back. Raioten sat back thinking about how he could help Kagura. As he got lost in thought, his face twisted. Kagura stepped back, his face stating to sweat profusely.

Kagura: Hey bro, are you alright?

Raioten snapped out of his thought and Kagura couldn't feel the intimidating aura around him anymore. Raioten attempted to explain his strategy to Kagura with hand signs and gestures.

Kagura: No, you shouldn't do anything like that for me. We can figure this out another way.

Raioten shook his head and took off running. Kagura gave chase, but wasn't able to keep up at all. Kagura began to search for Raioten. Seeing Toshiro and Red in the distance, Kagura rushed over immediately.

Kagura: Mr. Toshiro! Have you seen little bro?

Toshiro: Blue? Yes, he and Ragnar are coming back here in a second. I'm not sure why, but he challenged Ragnar to a fight.

Red: I'm just here to see if he dies.

Kagura: We have to stop him!

Red got incredibly serious for a moment.

Red: No way. You stay over here until the fight is over. Blue is trying to prove himself, you'd only insult him by stepping in.

Kagura reluctantly stood back, waiting for the fighters to enter the main corridor.

Toshiro: Don't worry too much Kagura, the fight won't last very long. The only category the young man has is speed, everything else is in Ragnar's favor by a large margin.

  Kagura: But he-

Toshiro: Its fine, he won't kill him or anything.

Ragnar emerged from his room with Raioten sitting on his shoulders. As they got to the center of the corridor, Raioten hopped down.

  Ragnar: Are you ready?

Raioten nodded and ran forward with blinding speed.

Toshiro: Ineffective, dodge the counter and fall for the feint.

Raioten kicked Ragnar in the stomach, but the behemoth didn't budge. He was nearly punched but was able to maneuver away from the danger. Ragnar lifted a fist high into the sky and slammed it down fast. As Raioten was too focused on the incoming attack, his foot was grabbed by Ragnar's other hand. Toshiro stopped taking notes and turned towards the cafeteria.

Toshiro: *sigh* only about 15 seconds left in this one, I'm just going to go get some food.

Ragnar slammed Raioten down with meteoric force. He held on to the boy's leg, seeing that the fire was still in his eyes. Ragnar continued singing Raioten around the room wildly. As Raioten was being smahed through all types of furniture, Kagura was getting impatient.

Before he could step forward, Red put her arm out in front of him. He realized he should try to sit back and watch, but hated seeing his self proclaimed bro getting hurt so much. To avoid getting slammed anymore, Raioten leaned forward and bit off Ragnar's thumb.

  Kagura: What the!?

  Red: What are you doing?

Ragnar: Ha! No worries little red one, this is nothing the QRPT can't fix. Come at me with everything you've got!

Jugo arrived to see Raioten fighting against Ragnar. The boy's strikes couldn't do much of anything, and every strike the juggernaut landed broke something.

Kagura: Jugo! Can't you stop him? Maybe if you tell him to quit, he'll listen.

Jugo: Nah, I'd never do that. The fight may be a mismatch but I'll let them finish it out. Their fighting styles automatically eliminate the possibility of competition, but he chose to fight anyway.

Kagura: But it isn't fair, this doesn't help anyone.

Jugo: You're right but he's chosen this path himself. Just know if they were on the same level of power overall, this fight would be even more one sided believe it or not.

  Red: Wait what?

Jugo: Styles make fights, that's all there is to it. I've fought them both enough to understand that an even fight between them both would be anything but.

Kagura couldn't stand not being able to help Raioten in any way. He shook in place with rage as Raioten got hit over and over. With every earth shattering strike that landed, Kagura felt more and more useless. As he turned to look away from the fight, he saw the hammer in his hand.

He was surprised that Raioten's plan actually worked. Kagura was able to smile knowing that Raioten was dealing with the pain to force him to summon the hammer. Kagura focused on the feeling in his heart and took in a deep breath. After the hammer dissipated, he was able to focus and resummoned the hammer.

Kagura spent a few seconds practicing with the hammer. Just as he felt like he could summon it on command, he couldn't anymore. He looked around and saw the Ragnar had summoned it himself. Raioten was embedded into a wall far away.

Kagura: What the hell is going on?!

Ragnar: You managed to actually block that at the last second, I'm impressed.

Raioten popped his shoulder back into place and got ready.

Kagura: Wait what happened? Why is he using that hammer?

Jugo: He finally decided to stop holding back. This was inevitable.

Kagura: But he isn't hurt at all, he doesn't need that against little bro! He can't have gotten that strong.

Jugo: No, he's not nearly as strong as the rest of us. You're missing the point here, just watch.
