Weeks went on and both trained their control more and more, over time even meditating worked for Riven. He planned to use his full soul’s energy to see how much it had improved, the last time he ever tried to use his full energy was down in the cave.

  “AND…”

  SHWUUMM…

  With an amazed face he looked at his soul energy thinking. “Hehe…this is stronger than Veylan at the exam, isn’t it?!” The old woman came near by saying “Good, good, you’re an owl…” And walked away. Riven went to talk to Veylan later in the day “You know what is weird, why does call us animals? She called you an owl and earlier me too!”

  Suddenly She old woman stood next to them, Riven nervously looked away and sweating a little bit “Hehe…did you hear anything and ehh…how did we not notice you?”

  The old woman looked with slightly grumpy face “Sigh…I heard it…we are going to continue with the next basic, you both are advanced enough now! We are keeping it simple. I both of you this sticky paper, make it stick somewhere at my skin for multiple times, and we go on to the next and last basic…” Riven got red paper Veylan got black paper.

  “Well…this is going to be interesting…”

  Even though Riven improved much Veylan still is two or three steps ahead, the other two basics depend on the first. Letting out your energy is nothing else than controlling it, being able to hide it nothing different than reversing the process but still. This doesn’t mean Veylan automatically is going to learn it faster.

  “Should we work together?” Riven asked “Let’s try it alone, if still don’t manage to do it we still can team up.” Veylan was going into the house to make dinner, Riven stayed outside.

  A Veylan and the old woman are making dinner the whole setting is tensed up “Should I? No, no, maybe she is expecting exactly that?! Or what if I hurt maybe?” Thinking of this she noticed it herself “Hehe…I you want me to catch like this I don’t have good news…you’re still a little away from beating me in one on one…” Even though Veylan is mostly calm this triggered a sense of perplexity inside him “What did she say? She thinks I can’t beat her in a one on one?”

  Silence, pure silence.

  Even though she was just peeling some potatoes she was more alert then ever “It’s true I probably still beat him, but this doesn’t mean it can’t get tuff…” Thinking of this she looked out the window, Riven almost reaching her. No one noticed, only one or two meters and he maybe succeeded.

  She saw this instantly using her energy and somehow threw his red papers out of his hand without touching him, he answered back with his energy. But it didn’t used a thing “Haha…you think you can defend yourself with just answering back with your energy? What a fool!” Suddenly in her eye corner she sees Veylan coming dangerously fast towards her. “Dang it! I really underestimated those young mans!”

  “Maybe your stronger in soul energy but physically you can’t match us.” In just a moment Veylan had her feet in his face kicking him away leaving him and Riven completely shocked and speechless. “Maybe I look old but like I have said there are important items that can decide much! Maybe I look old but in truth I am almost two hundred years old! Hehe…beside that…I was once eating an old fish, I remember this fish was old, very old. Since I ate it, I began to age much slower

  To make it simple, there fighting a two hundred year old woman who still has great physical abilities.

  Veylan decided retreat for now, Riven was more stubborn but ultimately also retreated “Shit, shit, shit! How on earth should we win against someone like her? She handled as like we are little kids!” But Veylan was thinking differently “You don’t seem to know, I also didn’t saw you coming. That’s not it, when we both finally saw you, I saw true surprise in her face. For us it seems like she easily defeated us. She really became serios! And we still have one advantage she probably doesn’t.” He smiled for second like he had something great “It might seem like nothing big but: innovation!”

  Riven wasn’t really impressed “That’s it? How do you even come to such a conclusion?”

  “It’s just my feeling but and it’s not always the case but; old people tend to become inflexible and less open for new strategies and tactics, if we do something that doesn’t fits her mind or we find out her pattern we can find something against it!”

  The next day the old woman brought them into a forest, everything was foggy they barely could see five meters/fifteen feet Infront of them. “You maybe can already think what we are going to do but a little different, not I am going to hide; you are. You have ten minutes to hide I must tag you with my white paper, the time runs…and yes, almost forgot that. We are not alone. It’s over when I tagged you or you survive until morning…”

  Riven quickly found some rocks and moos, he lay down and used moos to cover himself. Veylan found a tree with so many leaves that it was impossible to look thrown and climbed up.

  “If you found something to hide or not; I am coming!”

  Going around while activating her soul energy to detect them “Well hidden, I am walking around for already ten minutes and haven’t felt any of those two…or maybe I am also getting old, hehe…”

  Even though the old woman was far away from Veylan he heard footsteps, like an amateur he tried to hide his energy. “I can’t see a thing, where is she?”

  The steps came nearer and nearer until it stood under tree, as he looked down at a weird creature standing there leaning its forehead at the tree.

  It is tall, very tall. “W-what is this? It looks like black fog but like it got body. Is this from what she warned us about?”

  A few moments later it looked like it was about him, suddenly it seemed like its body losses its form. A second later the black fog came up to Veylan and got his body shape back. Veylan tried to hit it, but he just fell through it “What? How is this possible?" But for whatsoever reason its punch connected and kicked Veylan down the tree.

  “Damn…how?”

  It again became formless; I traveled down the tree and slowly walked towards Veylan. “Shit, if I use my soul energy, she is easily going to find me…hehe…that was her plan. She thought she can find us easily like this!”

  Meanwhile the old woman walked through the forest like it’s a normal walk, while literally pulverizing those monsters with her energy. “Hehe, it’s so simple to beat the black fogs. But they can’t use their energy because I would instantly detect it! I am excited and interested how you guys are going to handle it…especially you Veylan…”

  But Riven was still safe at that time. But that still could’ve changed in not so long time.
