[Notes found in police raid in 5, Chartera Street. Planedia.]
[The following is a partial reconstruction. Most of the documentation that came along with this note was destroyed by fire. The information of it in the following transcription may not be neither complete not accurate. Readers are advised to turn instead to its corresponding report within the case folder.]
[Case 937-E-2]
It has to be done in four phases.
In the first phase, called [illegible], the base substance that comprises the new body must be made. The ingredients for it are human blood (not of kaster) [sic], gray clay and powdered human bones. Complete with cat fur. All of this mixture, once left to dry and exposed to the moon, but not the sun, during three days, it has to be melted into a liquid again and then pour it over the endoskeleton.
Preferably use a humanoid mold instead of full handmade sculpture.
Remember to sculpt the correct amount of fingers and toes, of making a mouth that can be used to speak, to make two holes were [sic] the nose would be and to carve the position of the eyes.
The clay can be sourced from [scratched away], and for the bones, the resurrectionist team can get them for you in exchange for the usual fee. If the fee was changed consult [there is a list of several names, all scratched away]
Remember to test that the vessel has full mobility before continuing. And make sure that you’re on schedule.
[Above note was numbered as 1. There are no 2 or 3.]
The Ssezari ritual has to be done under every new moon for the full process to work. And the counter-ritual is to be performed every full moon. You are to always have a complete squad of vessels there ready for the incarnation procedures.
You have to break their spirits from the moment they are put into the vessels. Instill into them that they are no longer people, they are things. No matter how much they scream or attempt to cry, you ought to remember it yourself: THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE. They have beem brought back by the higher powers for a higher purpose, as it was done in the Old Times it must be done today. Think of them as merely talking puppets and drive it to them that that’s all they are: Puppets.
Break them so they serve us, and promise them their release if they succeed.
Terminate those who still have an identity. For the sake of it, ideally, have the teams run the incarnation process individually with each vessel. The less they know of who they were the less they will cling to having been human at some point.
[Note: There is no information at the time of writing about what the “Ssezari ritual” is. A section of the Lastrian Academy has been formally requested by the Capital Constabulary to research into it. According to the existent theories, it is probably a mostly religious procedure given that the moon has no effect whatsoever in magic. However, due to the current incidents it has been deemed to not be out of the question that it may have a magical origin.]
Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
If you need to, remember the writings of Saint Tuleas and his hypothesis of the Soul Machine. If you can remove the idea that they have been people and are merely copies of who they once were, it makes things easier.
[There are two notes numbered as 4. One cannot be reconstructed.]
Under darkening skies we wait.
We, the people of fire and the storm.
We work to bring the light.
When we hear the sound of the horn.
[The poem above is badly written in the original to make it presumably rhyme better. This transcription has instead opted for a grammatically correct take on it for the sake of its meaning. Most of the rest of the note consists of variations of it with different spellings and different wordings that don’t change the meaning.]
[Note labeled 7. More variations on poetry, there are, however, notes in the margins of the page.]
The resurrectionists have raised the prizes [sic] again. Say that they are under heavy scrutiny at universities and police are looking at the cemeteries. Hospital also heavily guarded.
After consultation, the masters have chosen for us to use the bones of those who have been ‘harvested’. I do not agree. We will spend more money doing the butchering ourselves.
Masters have decreed for us to also kill the resurrectionists. No loose ends. I agree with that.
[Note unlabeled. No eights have been found, presumed to be this one.]
I have already rented the house under the assumed name. It was not as difficult as it originally seemed as long as you don’t play by the rules. It was meant to be close to the Promised One but we never expected it would be the one right next to it.
A local housekeeping team is in process of being hired. Unfortunately we will run into a significant leak of resources, so they will have to be eliminared. [sic]
As a personal note: I think the masters are wrong in a scale basis. Trying to get rid of all loose ends, even if they don’t pose an immediate danger to the cause, can and does paradoxically result in a significant amount of more loose ends. Plausible deniability is better.
[Note 9]
I should have bought one of those old paper shredders, having to get rid of all of this documentation through fire is, at best, a nightmare. But I was right, the housekeeping team ended up being a massive loose end. And that was exactly what got us in this shit situation.
Safe houses one through four in the capital have already been cleaned and subsequently destroyed. Only house five remains, for the next three hours at least. We have estimated that there will be a police raid tomorrow morning, so we must be out of here by mid afternoon.
I was right, and the masters will get a pice [sic] of my mind the next time I get to meet them, if I do.
The big day can’t come soon enough.
