Ice is Strong, Influence

Creig thought Professor Oaks' visit would be the highlight of the next week, instead Kyurem had also shown up which had him and Oak both standing awkwardly for a bit. Then Glacia and Pryce, checking on what the delay was. If the others weren't so urgently busy they would be in the same state, they did do double takes and stop momentarily before returning to business. Since Kyurem was passively a representation it's most likely it was there for personal reasons, but it could be there for work on behalf of Arceus, the unpredictability of the pokemon that was this worlds equivalent to a fusion of Man and Lucifers fall sent a shiver not born of cold down Creigs' spine.

"So, are you here on orders?" Creig wanted to add, or for personal reasons, but Kyurem might not use its Legendary power to communicate in human language. a curt shake of its head was how it answered.

"A moment young man" interrupted Oak, who brought out a pokeball. From which came his Alakazam. "If everyone is amenable, would you make communication easier for us Zam". Alakazam "asked" for permission with a slight directed pressure, to which Creig agreed.

While it was really a set of impressions (which in turn had sets of impressions within) the translation went something along these lines: "I felt the disturbance of the new one, it is much muted by his new energy and distance from source, but he has great despair within much as myself, I sought to see his brokenness. But I find him not broken, he endure. I do not understand."

Creig really considered how to respond. There was the ever-guiding light of his Faith from his world, which was slightly shaken since being transported to another "living" world wasn't in any scripture. The belief in the divine promise was a strong light of unyielding hope. Then he was in a new world, a new body, he was aiding people to receive better lives. In his old life he had been so far from living up to his ideals due to the truths of the world, that most people wanted to suffer and to make others suffer, and the sufferers let the Hedonists run wild, furthering the suffering. Solutions were rejected based on them being actual solutions, and the people hated the idea that they could have been happy, and that others would not share their pain, would have what they had not. The people of this world, at worst chaffed when solutions came along, they were still implemented, if they needed to find a solution at all. Hedonism was straight out rejected by most in this world. Creigs' old dream could be called arrogant in a way, but it was the backlash to the amount of suffering in his old world, but Creig had realize, ending suffering was a personal choice for each person, you could hold out a hand, but others had to choose to grasp it. He realized he wanted to be as Jesus, but also realized he could only emulate poorly, it was best to lead people to Christ, lead to salvation, Creig didn't have a talent for it, it wasn't his place. But those were the burdens of his old world, here he needed a new dream, a new ideal to live towards, the truth of this world was not the same, even if Truth still was.

"You will create a new road to the destination of the Ideal Truth-- the Divine Truth?" Apparently Alakazam was transmitting everyones' thoughts related to what they wished to communicate. Oak looked like he was feeling a bit complicated, trying to gaze at the sky, but waged with curiosity and nosy empathy. If Kyurem could go wide eyed, it would be slightly. Creig recognized the look of wanting to reject an idea it had.

"This might be pushing it a little, but as far as I can tell, even if you could get both Reshiram and Zekrom you would fall farther away, rather than return to form." Creig ventured. Kyurem was unhappy with that, that was its secret hope, known, exposed, REJECTED. "The reason I think this" Creig cautiously continued "Is that I believe the Ideas those two represent are worldly (the idea of which being, divine reality, distorted), While not as bad as my old world people are blind to Full Truth, they have limited perspective, this allows them to have unobtainable delusions for ideals, or believe that the worlds truth is harsher than it is, or even malignant." Kyurem did something between a roar and a howl before impressing that our "talk" would continue later, before walking away.

"You really haven't said much about where you did come from, other than what is comparative to our own" came from Glacia

"I was being cautious of first impressions, my thoughts were focused on the worst problems in that moment, and the severity could be attributed to the times I was born in."

"Like the various Teams who are putting our own world at risk potentially making our world seem worse than it is." Interjected Oak "The fact you who came from that world wanted the problems fixed shows that your concerns were not a hard rule, though I feel like the first problem could be put in a different way?"

"Aversion to Change, Fear of Change, Aversion to Failure/Hardship, and Aversion to Shame." Creig counted with his fingers "Most just wanted the beliefs they had formed or been taught to never be challenged, The crux of the problem is much like here, Hedonists crave power, here they fail, in my world they succeeded, so the teachers of what to believe taught lies." Creig frowned in distaste, his feelings on the matter still too strong to be fully suppressed by the Ice TE.

Pryce snorted "I'm too old for all this change." then sighed "But the world doesn't care about that and a new day dawns anyway, I'm not one of those hedonists, but I probably fall into the middle category of leave me alone."

Creig grunted "I don't know how you lived your whole life, Tired after a long life is different from avoiding responsibility"

Oak was nodding along, then snapped his fingers "On point, our worlds may less different than we may be thinking at the moment, I can think of a few people who do meet our young mans point, but as a sidebar, I would testify for you Pryce that you do not." Pryce got a complicated look at Oak vouching for him. Oak took his contemplative pose "To think on the stated values presented it should be that fundamental truths hold up to questioning, temporary truths can not be confirmed due to fluidity, falsehoods will crumble. But most believe and want to believe that what they learn, whether by living or being taught, is unchanging when it is actually false or fluid, and they wrongly believe that unchanging truth is fluid"

Glacia chipped in "Ice is water that has been frozen, while the molecular composition remains the same, they are fundamentally different. Shape and size can be different but Ice remains Ice, it was never and will never, be water, but people often think of Ice as the same as water, and get angry if you try to explain it's not."

Creig startled having realized something, everyone else did a quick look around for what startled him. "I just thought that Kyurem might know, or be able to know if I fit into or am capable of fitting into this worlds morality, and would know the morality of this world" he groaned out. "luckily? it's coming back"

Oak blinked "I can't think of a time anyone actually questioned what should be moral, or if they would be different between worlds before. What if we have something wrong?"

"Alright, Alright, we all have things to do" Interrupted Pryce "Training" Turning and heading inside.

"Once things calm down, I and the other professors will probably pick your brain about your old world bit by bit, maybe find some things that can be implemented in our own."

"Bit, by Bit" Creig agreed. And everyone went on their way, or well almost.

As soon as Creig entered the Center, Giovanni was standing there, Creig had, in the shock of seeing Kyurem, forgotten Oak had brought him. Creig noticed Looker was currently not busy, but being unobtrusive taking a break, but also keeping half an eye on Giovanni. Giovanni seemed unaware of who Looker was just yet at least, seemed being the operative word. The Rocket trio were also here, though not in Rocket uniform.

"So, your the other-worlder who knew of my project, and aside to that the one who got Miyamotos' daughter a better job offer." Giovanni stared for a moment "any opinions to offer?" with a bit of a smirk.

"I know how type energy is effecting me, but for the people of this world who lived their whole lives with it, do they notice if it shapes part of their mindset?, perhaps consider that being so Grounded, especially when you are spending so much time trying to control unruly desirables has endowed you with expectation that don't mesh with the world outside of that minor subset. Also I'm fairly sure you're underestimating Legendaries, they represent the foundations that hold up the ground, mess with them in the wrong way, and the ground (reality) may cease to exist. With that Creig moved on, Giovanni didn't act to continue a conversation, but he did scowl before looking contemplative.

A week passed by since then in a short term routine. Creig was now controlling his energy enough to be a proper trainer so a couple decisions had been made. For one was getting him a starter. The second was supplemental lessons, this ended up being determined by the fact that the practical knowledge he needed most was moves, which meant he would be studying with Professor Kukui, it also meant that there would be four other high level professors nearby (Samson Oak, Burnet, Mohn, Lusamine), so he would also still be secure. Creig respected Alolas' culture, but at the same time he didn't want to become part of their people living under the mysterious rules of the Tapu. Since all parties were clear about expectations and concerns agreements were quickly reached. Creig also worked it out so he wouldn't have to hid that he was an other-worlder, he would have an "attendant" when he struck out on his own as a trainer. Since Alola was decided on the regional variant of Sandshrew was chosen as his starter.

Anabel had missed the other Anabels' fight, she panicked a bit when Creig reminded her, after he remembered one evening halfway through the week, but luckily for her Nurse Joy recorded it. At the end of the week the Battle Frontier Anabel dropped in for a surprise visit, accompanied by Scott, who after seeing a second Anabel stopped begging to know why they were putting great battles on hold to come to an isolated island, and nearly dropped his jaw on the floor. Looker had arranged that visit, he also kept Scott from pushing too hard to get Interpol Anabel as an employee. Nate trained a lot to be prepared for his destiny, and spent his spare time getting what he could out of Creig about Unova.

Giovanni left the day after he arrived with Oak, with Oak. May Oak was staying in Hoenn reconnecting with Courtney. Jessie got an official medical license, and Meowth got a special advisor status for pokemon communication. The three started full Ranger education when a special instructor arrived at the end of the week. Giovanni called to ask for some advice, warily Creig told him of the F.B.I. and C.I.A., who could to a certain extent be openly/known but unseen to be bad guys, The concepts surprised Giovanni, Creig also advised not to rebrand to K.I.A. Giovannis' face sent from confused to realizing, then scowled and hung up, Creig almost laughted, when he told the Interpol trio they did laugh each in their own way. The day before the end of the week Giovanni publicly, with Prof. Oak and Director Goodshow, announced the "organizing" of a group to bypass bureaucratic red tape so as to take down extra dangerous criminal groups (like Plasma), or corporations abusing their powers(Galaxy), things like smuggling rings and poachers would still mostly fall to interpol. This also mostly took care of potential problems in Jhoto.

Aster, while on her last legs, was still around and helped smooth things over with the Draconids. The fact that their prophecy was confirmed had been taken well, the name of the enemy Deoxys with interest, the fact there might be a second non threatening one Rayquaza would take beef with was not welcome, half the tribe threw a fit learning it wasn't one of there own that would help Rayquaza with the Deoxys meteor. Creig did a short speech the summary of which was: Legendaries are world guardians, the non-Draconid Hoenn peoples were cooperative, Draconids non-cooperative and not in synch with the way of the Legendaries. Aster laughed at her tribe hearing that. They would walk together a bit more and a bit more with time, to start Zinnia joined (not as a member) Interpol in investigating Magma and Aqua.

Less vitally about once a day Wallace called Creig about contest scenes in other realities. While he didn't personally think he had talent for contests Creig was interested in seeing them expand. The Anime contests were the norm in this world, Creig pointed out how limiting they were, beginners having to overcome pros like Wallace at even minor venues was too intimidating for most to get into, Wallace hadn't thought about the implications until they were pointed out to him. Luckily the contests from the games could both be taken wholesale and used in parts. So things were split, weekly beginners in each town, biweekly advanced and monthly expert and master level contests, all now with entry fees, not as much as gyms', but enough to help finance it all. Wallace would do some research on cool, smart, beauty, tough, and cute before introducing those, he compared them to Scotts' battle frontier in how he would implement them, and Creig didn't remember how each berry influenced those traits in pokemon which created more research for Wallace. Creig offhandedly mentioned Wallace should just be a Professor at this point, then Wallace took a few tests and got his degree and officially became a professor. The media was currently going wild, Nurse Joy hugged Creig for catalyzing the event. In trying to expand to Unova and Kalos, who had the photography and movie culture respectively, Wallace actually found Diantha before Interpol, they got along almost too well. Wallace did try to dig for details about how his relationship with Winona turned out, Creig never answered, Wallace never caught on to the idea: if Creig answered it had went badly, Creig not answering was: it would most likely be ruined if he interfered directly.

Cynthia took Cyrus to therapy, maybe that was working? Speaking of Cynthia brought up power scaling, Levels, EVs, and IVs, the games attempts to put biological limits to numbers, it was mostly fine, but "EV" training was apparently limited not as a hard set, but by year. You got less "points" each year, but that was because it gradually became harder/longer to surpass biological limits. A ten year veteran pokemon could have 4-5 times the amount of EV stats as a first year. The games were really a simulation, real battle wasn't a lot of direct hits, and field manipulation was a lot more robust, which would have to be Creigs bread and butter of strategy. Back to being about Sinnoh, not much could be done about Alamos, or really any of the other places Legendaries would show up, and watch stations were set up for when the time-space rips happened, since that was pre-set in the timeline. It was double checked, but Rei and Akari were not people who got sucked into the past, unlike Ingo, the brothers were prepping for it to happen, not happy, but understanding it was beyond mortal ken as to why or to stop it.

Speaking of Unova, N was seized from Ghestis, it was quite controversial, this weakened Plasma but didn't stop them. N was uncooperative, but he became more open after Creig introduced him to Alola. A region ruled by pokemon, but still had trainers, combined with how Z-moves worked made N question everything he had been taught. N decided to go to Alola for a few weeks before going back to Unova for the events to happen there. Rosa, turned out, had her Plasma origin, and was also secured, she pretty much just insisted on following N. While having direct refutation of her beliefs in the form of Alola was less devastating to her, Learning of the destinys' of her alter-selves was shocking. Her biggest hit was when Creig pointed out to N that Rosas' loyalty was intertwined with the fact that she had an idolization crush on him causing both to rise to near-zealot levels. N had a talk with her, pointed out that Rosa only had an ideology in common, and the experience of having that ideology successfully questioned, N said they could be friend if they actually got to know each other as people. Since Rosa needed school and still wanted to follow N, and Nate was her heroic partner they would also go to Alola. Bunch of school mate, yay-....-

It was theorized that Azs' Floette wasn't appearing because the ultimate weapon had never been properly disposed of. The search for Az himself wasn't going great, but it had only been a week, and it wasn't a priority. There was debate on whether to track Zygards cells or not, checking the condition of Yveltal and Xerneas was a priority though. Calum got extra security to stop the fanatics from chasing him, Diantha and Wallace reached out to him as well as they could help mentor about the being a star business. The rangers also started to put things in place to keep a closer eye on reflection cave.

There really wasn't an update on Alola other than everyone joining class there. It should be mentioned that N would be shadowing the Kahunas as an after school activity. Cosmog had yet to show up. For Galar signs of Eternatus' return were appearing, not in response mind you, but now it was being noticed. Calyrix had yet to re-appear. Paldea gave up and opened their borders, the treasures of ruin were checked on, and Turo and Sada were under increased supervision, having been proven untrustworthy, despite their brilliance. It was briefly floated that their AI counterparts just straight up replace them at their job, but the limitations were just too many for that, it did give Turo and Sada an attitude check though. Kitakami was scouted, but not approached just yet.

Orre would be taken care of by Giovanni and his new organization. Despite the tension between League and Rangers HQ, the Rangers took the warnings of threats to their regions seriously. Among all this Creig managed to suggest a Super League where anyone who finished in the top 32 of 8 regions league tournament could participate. The champions thought it was a good idea, a lot of high ranks could only battle by challenge anymore.

Last thing of the week, and personally important to Creig, Kyurems' return. Kyurem wanted to know how he kept going, so Creig explained Jesus, the hope, and starting anew by accepting that you can't control circumstance, so you had to "Flow with/around it". Kyurem reflected on how it had been living, it had wallowed instead of trying to live as it had or should, Creig couldn't say if Kyurems situation was the exact same as a penitent, but if he compared Kyurems' existance to anything, it was like how Jesus described living in Hell, but Kyurems' situation might not be permanent. Kyurem did not know if Creig had been changed to fit into the morals of the world he found himself in. While mostly the same this world didn't have marriage or partnership here, due to no Adam and Eve in Eden, so no virginity, either. Arceus it seems, didn't care about being blasphemed, and was confident that as the people learned, any false idols would go out of fashion. Pokémon-People relations?, they were actually made to be compatible, it was apparently questionable if Humans and the people of pokemon world were the same, Creig only had a general idea about human genetics, and his original body hadn't come along. With a bit of help from Nurse Joy, Creig identified that this worlds genetics were more active overall, and pokemon-people genetics were far closer than human-animal genetics had been, despite that being as approximately .5 percent. PokePeople also weren't designated caretakers of their world, only residents, unlike humans and Gaia. With Creig leaving the temporary League response HQ was finally being removed from the pokemon center, much to Nurse Joys' relief. Glacia and Pryce were going back to their respective duties, though an Ice Forum had been set up to continue keeping an eye on Criegs personal training. Anabel and Looker were on escort duty till Kakui took over, then they would return to regular duty at Interpol. Lusamine arranged temp and long term secure housing, since Kakui and Burnet didn't have enough room. Creig was also desperately trying to remember as much math as he could, not that he remembered exact numbers on things like sin() and cos(), just that they represented great meaning on waveforms, perhaps he was planning lesson plans too far in the future, maybe he was a bit scared if he didn't remember now and notate it, it would be forgotten irrevocably, probably both. Boarding a plane, he noticed that not only was there an electric type emergency generator, but a flying type as well. Soon they were in the air and Creig at least was headed to the proper start of a new life.
