  Chapter 55 – Reign

  Wedea: Its your win…

  As her weapons on the ground disappear, I released my . Everyone fell silent… their thought to be invincible queen was defeated. They thought to themselves what would happen now? It was the first time in history that a Xaelos Queen was defeated. The arena was made from a special material or to be more precise, embedded with an artifact that strengthens the Xaelos while weakening any other race that steps within it. Nelus won fairly so they have no qualms in his win. What they didn’t know is that all beings originated from the attributes of Nebulus during the creation so a part of the Xaelos is within him, instead the arena making him stronger and quickened his exhausted mana’s regeneration was unprecedented to them. So even after the battle ended his mana easily replenishes back to full. Nelus then asked…

  Nelus: Is that weapon what caused you to ascend? (Another X rank weapon… an unusual one at that, it seems to be made of a foreign material.)

  Wedea: Hahh… well yes… it’s not a secret after all.

  Nelus: Where did you get it?

  Wedea: While exploring the border between the land of light and the land of darkness, I met an individual… he was the one who gave it to me…

  Nelus: Can you describe this individual?

  Wedea: I can’t, he was wearing a cloak…

  Nelus: You didn’t know him yet you accepted this weapon? Also what were you doing near the border?

  Wedea: He said he was just an “observer” and that this weapon he gave me was just to kill some time. He said if I didn’t accept he would kill me in which I had no choice as my senses were telling me he was far stronger than I am. He then battled with me… he was extremely strong, though not as strong as what I felt during the time you… as for me being near the border, it was because I was hunting… my class is a certain kind of hunter, I hunt monsters to strengthen myself and the place most abundant in monsters is the land of darkness but I cannot enter it so I just hunted near the border were there were at least sufficient amount of them to be my prey.

  Nelus: (He gave Wedea an X rank weapon just to kill time? Is it Atir… no… Atir should be in the land of darkness but I think he said that he will return home once he cured her grandma as he was a king after all. So it might be another otherworldly being… how troublesome… observer hmm…)

  The 5 people in the nearest front of the audience, the council with 3 women and 2 men, that supported the queen were cringing for her lost. They then inwardly sighed as a win is a win so they don’t have any choice but to comply. As for Raldine, she jumps for joy and freed her father as he wakes up, it seems that the collar was imbued with a crystal artifact that was imbued with sleep magic. Her father was still sleeping as she lays him down near the wall as a Xaelos elder approaches her.

  Elder#1: Raldine… are you so eager to free your father that you had brought a stain in our history?

  Raldine: I am sorry elder but when I was banished that Trason used my father as bait but I do not know why…

  Elder#3: Why did queen Wedea or should I say… Wedea have to kill Trason…

  Raldine: Because he killed me and my father…

  Elder#2: “Killed” what nonsense are you blabbering!?

  Raldine: My father and I were killed using an artifact inside us.

  Elder#3: How did he manage to get it inside you and your father?

  Wedea: He made her drink something with the artifact inside; I can guess that he managed to liquefy the artifact with special means. Also, she can’t help it but to trust him, I mean he was a Xaelos advisor for many generations. He was planning to make me his wife and use the death of Raldine and our father as a start of a revolution to become the first king.

  Everyone had a dumbfounded expression, what he was doing was against one of the most important rule to the Xaelos. It was to rule with an iron fist and to gain the privilege to rule fairly. A revolution was counted as cowardly as the one who wanted to rule will use the power of other people to gain his rights. So in the history of the Xaelos there were almost none of the existing revolutions.

  Elder#4: Where did you learn this!?

  Wedea: From Trason himself before I killed him. He said it to me with clear words stating “you see times like these doesn’t want someone to just rule with power, a ruler needs to have intelligence as well as wit to rule.“ it was a clear statement that he would go against what we have believed so far just to make the throne his.

  Elder#5: I didn’t hear of such thing!

  Wedea: It was because Nelus used before everyo… I mean Raldine and father died.

  Elder#1: Shouldn’t we still remember it?

  Wedea: I…

  Elder#3: She is just speaking nonsense.

  Nelus: It was because I killed everyone that a part of your memories were gone pertaining to the most recent memory.

  Wedea: Nelus don’t or…

  Nelus: It is okay they can’t do anything to me.

  Wedea: It’s not the time to act so cool! And I was worried for a second there…

  Nelus: ?

  Wedea pouted as she turns around cross armed as her heart skipped a beat when he said that.

  Elder#2: And you are expecting us to believe that you killed all of us elders in just a single moment!?

  Wedea: No… he killed everyone in this room except for me… as I somehow managed to survive.

  As they heard Wedea’s serious tone as she said that. They felt the truth she was speaking as they involuntarily gulped and trembled, but even with that they still had an unbelieving expression as Wedea sighed.

  Wedea: Nelus will you erect a barrier for Raldine and father, do not worry about me and release your pressure… enough to make them believe you… don’t worry I’ll be fine also… just get ready for everyone’s reaction. Everyone!! Our new king shall demonstrate his power so that no one shall doubt his strength!! Nelus just don’t go overboard… fufufu… is it okay?

  Nelus: Well… you announced it before asking me so I think declining it after that would just cause more trouble than its worth.

  Raldine: Eh? A barrier again!? Uhm… Nelus?

  Wedea: Don’t worry sister… hahaha you’re in for a show.

  Raldine: Sister… I thought you hated me…

  Wedea: Did I ever say that?

  Raldine: No… but you ignored me before you went away… during that time…

  Wedea: As your older sister I can’t stay weaker than you can I… I just wanted for you to look up to me… that is why I left immediately to train.

  Raldine: Eh… then all this time…

  Raldine unconsciously blushed with tears forming as Wedea was after all her big sister, it was far too long when Wedea has called her sister. All she wanted was for her sister to acknowledge her that is why she trained to become strong enough for her acknowledgement during the battle for the throne, who knew she would win. Afterwards when she approached Wedea, she thought that she hated her as Wedea just ignored her and went away. What she didn’t know that Wedea deeply loved Raldine but she wanted to be stronger so she trained. She was the older sister after all as well as a Xaelos, she can’t let Raldine overtake her in strength.

  So after Wedea won after challenging her again, she asked the elders if it was possible to cancel the banishment which no one approved. Wedea was depressed as she then decided to ask Trason for advice on what she could do. Trason suggested to Wedea to let her father be the bait to get Raldine back then deal with it afterwords. Who knew Trason will use this for his advantage. What Raldine thought when Wedea use her father as bait infuriated her but deep inside she still loves her, that is why the time she told Nelus her secret she said that it was just because she was just jealous of father’s attention and to prevent her and his execution instead for revenge. When she saw Wedea’s affectionate smile she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore as some of it falls on her cheek and on her father as she was standing besides him inside the barrier. Her father then wakes up and what awaits, within his sights shocked him…

  Everyone fell silent as they anticipated what Nelus will do as suddenly… a huge pressure pervaded throughout the room as all of them except for Wedea, who was grinning while clenching her fist, smashes onto the ground because of the extreme pressure. It was so strong that their bones were creaking and their lungs were being crushed so they cannot shout in pain. Wedea then signals Nelus to stop as he did. Everyone then staggers as they stood up. Everyone fell silent again then… they all cheered. All of their eyes were sparkling while looking at Nelus. All the male looks at him with admiration, as for the females… for a Xaelos strength was the most attractive thing to them. Female Xaelos are usually the ones who find a partner fitting for them and if the male wants to have a female partner they will challenge her to a duel. So all of the females were eyeing Nelus but they wouldn’t dare get close to him because of the former queens glaring at their reaction.

  Wedea grinned as Nelus was speechless… what he expected was for them to fear him but instead they cheered for him. Then the elders stood up with a dumbfounded expression. They then look at Nelus with reverence as the doubt that clouded their eyes were gone. What they were thinking that if someone such as him will rule over the Xaelos then their future is secured. As they wore smiles on their face they approached Nelus…

  Elder#1: Lord Nelus… we are glad to have you as our king first of all…

  Nelus: My job here is over so I will go now.

  Elder#1: To rule over the Xaelos you must… wh-whaaaaattt!!!??? Y-you didn’t come here to take over the throne!?

  Nelus: No… I just came here because Raldine was in trouble. You see just like her, I am a teacher at Lux Academy.

  Elder#2: I can’t believe this… you mean you did all this just because Raldine needed helo!?

  The elders then glared at Raldine for not explaining to Nelus as she looks away avoiding their gaze. Suddenly a man enters from the door on the south of the room. First he peeked before he entered as he saw Nelus his face paled… it was the supreme commander.

  Elder#5: Commander Salk, come!

  Salk: Y-yes elder…

  Elder#3: I remember that you were to guard the entrance as Wedea instructed and warn us for their arrival.

  Salk: Eh? Lord Trason told us that we were to guard the entrance and prevent anyone from going inside and outside for the whole day and capture Raldine using all of our military power.

  Elder#1: Trason again… so he really was planning something… also you said using all of our military power… then what happened?

  Salk: It was…

  Salk then looks at Nelus with fear as Nelus nods and agrees for him to explain…

  Salk: No one was killed but we have achieved a huge loss…

  Elder#4: And what was the lost that you speak?

  Salk: That man over there obliterated half of the fortress…

  The elders again received a shock as one of them goes out of the room with great speed as she returns her face was blue as the others had weary expression on their faces…

  Elder#1: How bad was it…?

  Elder#2: Half of the fortress was destroyed without a trace remaining…

  Elder#4: Lord Nelus… what weapon did you use to destroy our fortress… surely you used some kind of ancient weapon or…

  Salk: He did it himself with magic…

  Elders-in-unison: …

  All the elders became speechless… the more they heard about this individual the more absurd it becomes… a teacher? Even now they are having a hard time believing it… suddenly one of the elders reluctantly asked…

  Elder#3: Can you explain to us what happened in detail?

  Salk: Yes… we decided to use four of the Seismic Cannons against him as our troops cannot handle him as time passes. As we fire the cannons he easily returns all of its power but even stronger before as we evacuated the fortress. A beam so strong came out from his hands that it wipes the upper half of the fortress clean…

  Elder#1: You idiot!! What if the cannons destroy this city!!!

  Salk: My apologies elder… it was because I panicked that…

  Elder#4: Enough… hahh… this is too much…just what in the world is happening… a teacher who came to our city, destroying our race’s greatest weapon, duels our current queen only to refuse the throne, and we elders cannot make any decision… first… call the queen… she might be exploring somewhere…

  ???: Hahaha… well I heard everything.

  Elder: Lord Dalix

  Wedea and Raldine: Father!

  Dalix: Hahh… it seems I missed everything anyways my wife is on the way. I just called her using this Mind Connect sapling. Oh… she’s here.

  ???: By the time I get back I see the fortress destroyed! Who was the one who attack us! Wedea explain!!

  A strict, beautiful, blonde woman enters the room shouted as Wedea paled… she then explains everyting that has happened with the help of Raldine… she then ponders and nods…

  ???: I see… well we never had any king before so the choice is yours, what do you want to do?

  Nelus: I won’t become king and I will return to Uire.

  ???: Uire? Wait… you do not seem to be an angel… what are you?

  Nelus: A divine.

  ???: A divine!! So you are the last of your kind? I see so you managed to survive… so that is the reason your so powerful. Also I felt that some strong individuals were coming are they perhaps you’re acquaintance?

  Everyone except Raldine gasped as all of them thought that the Divines were extinct. Raldine chuckled at their continuous surprised reactions.

  Nelus: ?

  Dalix: My dear, Laldana, why don’t we ask them ourselves. They are headed towards here right?

  Laldana: Hmm… alright… Salk bring them here once they arrived.

  Salk: Yes my lord Laldana!

  As we waited for quite a while as a certain group of individuals came… it was Rezald, Ciall, Andros and… Cellux… once Cellux enters the room with his metallic wings unfolded everyone mind went blank as some of them forgot to breathe… a hero of all beings of divinity… the only divine with ten wings appeared, the first thing that entered their minds was the arclight saviour… all of them gulped and as he approaches Nelus and bowed they all forgot to think all together… the people who were most impacted were Raldine and Wedea as well as their parents and the elders… Salk was shaking his legs as his face became pale then blue trying to hold in the bursting sensation from within his pansts… the thought that came to him was… “did I offend someone I wasn’t suppose to…? The King of the Angels, Divines and Salph entered the room altogether… the two of the great races of the beings of divinity… oh God if you are there please help this poor soul…”

  Cellux: My lord I heard you left the academy in a hurry… so we came here as fast as we can… and as expected of Lord Nelus… we couldn’t keep up with your speed and manage to finish up immediately…

  Out everyone who was in a stunned state the first one to speak was Laldana…

  Laldana: I-is that perhaps… Lord… Cellux?

  Wedea: Raldine… can I perhaps enter the academy too…? Too have so many strong individuals at one place… I… I wish to duel them!!

  Raldine: …

  Raldine did not answer her sister’s whisper as her mind was in total chaos… who was Nelus… there are so many thing that she didn’t know about him… she was afraid to ask because of the thought that Nelus might find her annoying so she avoided entering his privacy. All she knows is that Nelus was one of the divine race who knew Nelus was someone important… then why enter Lux academy as a teacher?

  Cellux: Oh? Are you perhaps the current queen of the Xaelos? I have met with Adine before…

  Laldana kneeled as she then said…

  Laldana: She was my mother… I had heard many stories about you from my mother it is an honor to see such a legend… and may I ask who is Lord Nelus as we seem to be lacking on how we should treat him as someone like you holds him with high regards.

  Cellux pondered a bit as he remembers Ciall’s thought on the matter about Ciall’s statement of Nelus being the the previous divine king. He then looks at Nelus for approval as he then nods. No one actually knows about the history about the divine throughout the passage of time as it was lost. They didn’t know that Cellux was the first one to try to rule over the divine race while Nelus was actually their race’s worshipped God. His brother thought of the same so they dueled before doing so.

  Cellux: Lord Nelus is the previous king of the divines.

  Everyone-in-unison: …

  Everyone was too tired to even react as there were too many surprises in just one day…

  Laldana: I see… then we can’t bind Lord Nelus here if that is what he chooses. May I ask Lord Nelus for advice on what actions we should take?

  Nelus: As I destroyed the fortress I will one day try to rebuild it somehow but for now all of you are in my protection especially for the war. Also cancel Raldine’s banishment and make Wedea the queen.

  Laldana: My Lord but you have beaten her to a duel so at least their lives now belong to you.

  Nelus: I will not…

  Wedea and Raldine: We accept!

  Nelus: …

  Laldane: And so it will be.

  Wedea and Raldine answered in unison as they both smiled. Nelus sighed while Rezald was smiling wryly thinking… “Bro Nebulus, I guess no matter what you do you just can’t avoid a maidens heart even for a God such as you…”

  Andros: My, my… Ciall what an individual you have brought in… also it’s been a long time since I last seen you Cellux. Did you know how long it was for me to hold on the title of supreme king throughout the kings of my city? For me to be the supreme king until your arrival is a miracle.

  Cellux: So you haven’t use up your divinity all these years! I guess I can call you a monster!

  Andros: Hahahaha!!! You’re calling me a monster!? I see that you manage to replenish your divinity how was that possible?

  Cellux: I wonder…

  Andros: Hahh… still a secretive fellow are we…

  Cellux: Sorry it’s not time to tell anyone yet.

  Rezald: Anyways… let’s just go its getting late…

  Andros: I guess we should…

  Laldana: A human… that crystal… I have seen that kind of crystal but the color seems off… blue with a shade of purple?

  Andros: Hahaha! He is one of our teachers as well Nelus’ companions! Ciall told me that his power rivals that of the Luminant Kings. Did you know he hasn’t even reached 25 yet?

  Rezald: Hahaha… principal you’re making me blush.

  Laldana: So the ones in the rumors that beat Halvard were…

  Ciall: Rezald and Nelus.

  Laldana: …

  Cellux: Lets continue another time, for now we'll head back.

  Laldana: Of course my Lord.

  As they left everyone was still on their stunned state… as they calm their hearts down a ruckus happened as if the silence once before didn't happen.

  ???: Did you see? Lord Cellux!!

  ???: Arclight Saviour!!

  ???: So that human was the one who beat the Luminant king… I think I'm in love…

  ???: They said that Lord Nelus was a teacher at Lux Academy? My daughter is enrolled in that place! Fufufu… I'll go there and see if there are any promising individuals there… just a little helping hand for my daughter.

  ???: Nice idea! Maybe some of us can find some partners as well…

  ???: So strong… I want to duel them even if I'll lose… who knows maybe we can somehow win.

  ???: Yeah!

  Raldine: Uuuu… is bringing Nelus all the way here a good thing or a bad thing…

  Wedea: Don't worry sister, hahaha! Nelus can handle it himself.

  Raldine: I hope so…

  Wedea: (If you only knew what he was truly capable of… just thinking about that time where he has gone out of control sent chills to my heart.)

  Tomorrow is a “.5” chapter XD I only make 1-2 of those per volume so… :-D Also the part on what Raldine thought of Wedea being jealous is in chapter 48 XD just saying… I always reread my chapters before writing that is why it takes so much time :-) I just hope that all of you will appreciate my work after all the effort as all this are for my readers after all! :-D For now I need a little more time XD I still have to write another story for the contest. I have an image on what Nelus will look like and I hope to gain a cover no matter what! To show my love for this series I put most of my time to… well other than College… XD Author-sama will do his best!! ;-)
