35 – Day 4

  The sun rises.

The title of the stream changes once more.

  Day 4

  …

Joshua Abrams wouldn't call himself an egotistical man.

Sure, he had a bit of a mouth when he was a kid that never truly went away. The cocky attitude he has towards those he doesn't like surely doesn't help either.

  But damn.

  He feels good.

“In hindsight, maybe using the entire tank was a bad idea”

Joshua thinks it was silly of him to use all the fuel on an already dying enemy, but the cathartic release of absolutely fucking dousing some demon in fmes was too worth it.

It wasn't until he woke up in the morning when he realized how exhausted he had been. A weight being lifted off his shoulders at the mere thought that these horrible beings can bleed.

And he just proved the rule that comes with that.

If it bleeds, he can kill it.

He's been smiling all morning, Jophiel has been smugly watching him at a distance, reading his surface thoughts and knowing he's practically glowing.

She can be smug all she wants, Joshua doesn't care.

  What's next for today…

He could study the enchanting nguage, he slept like a rock st night so he didn't have the chance. But Joshua isn't one to waste daylight like that.

  Ah, right!

  Joshua suddenly remembers.

  The signal.

“It's amazing how I keep forgetting that”

  Confusion.

“The signal Gabriel picked up from the radio, the distress signal I think”

  …confusion?

“Bitch how did YOU forget too?!”

  Annoyance.

  Embarrassment.

“Sorry sorry. I shouldn't be a dick. You wanna come watch?”

Jophiel rolls her eyes at the btant topic change and raises an eyebrow at him.

  “Wat** wha*?”

“Good morning Mr. Joshua!!!” A sudden pink horse spawned.

“I'm going to- morning Gabe- I'm going to start building a bridge out into the ocean. The signal is… somewhere out there, so I want to start making progress”

  “Ooooo are we making things?”

Joshua opens his inventory and checks on his wood supply. It's a little low, he'll have to spend some time at the tree farm.

  Couldn't he just use cobblestone?

  He has plenty of that.

A quick trip to the crafting table leaves him with two stacks of cobblestone sbs.

  “B* car*ful…”

By the time he's at the shoreline, which would technically be his backyard funnily enough, Joshua has enough blocks to at least start construction.

First, he digs out a small section of the shore to even it out, just a few dirt and sand blocks moved around. He makes the bridge line up with his backdoor, which… doesn't really matter, but he might as well make it symmetrical.

He makes the bridge three blocks wide, which doesn't seem that big in game but in real life he's surprised at how rge it truly is (3 meters wide, almost 10ft).

Joshua learns quickly that physics is (mostly) just a suggestion when he builds, realizing that he doesn't even need to put support pilrs in the water to hold the bridge up.

  Neat.

“Two stacks… three blocks wide… that's, what?... 40? 40 blocks of bridge. Christ, that's like over 100 feet. I really overdid this”

Joshua has been building the bridge, thank GOD he doesn't have to look over the edge to pce blocks, but it's still a rather repetitive task.

  It's… actually kinda nice.

He can hear the calming waves of the ocean, the smell of salt in the air…

…And the psychic prodding of a protective mare in his head.

  “Bel*ved…”

  “It's fine, love”

  “Sl*w do**...”

  “I'm going plenty slow already”

  “Ple** b* c*reful…”

Jophiel is practically glued to his leg, mother-henning him as he works on the bridge, every time he gets close to the edge, she tenses.

It's not like he's building that high up, only a half block above the sea. Does she just not like the ocean all that much?

He chuckles a bit, much to her annoyance.

  “I'm fine, girl. What's wrong, can't swim?”

  “...”

  She goes quiet.

Looking down at her, Jophiel refuses to meet his eyes.

  There's no way…

  “Really?”

  “...”

He can see her ears start to burn red.

Joshua wants to ugh, but he knows he shouldn't, especially at the one who's been at his side all this time.

  But it's still funny.

“White Horse's one true rival, water”

He says that out loud, a smirk across his lips.

Gabriel, who's been humming some song that's vaguely familiar and pcing torches every few feet gnces at them for a second.

Jophiel sputters, facing him fully this time, face scrunched up in a cocktail of frustration and embarrassment.

  “Shut up!”

“Oh! I heard that one a lot better!”

Eyes widening at the change of topic, most of her annoyance fades away, repced by excitement.

  “Reall*?”

“Yeah I actually sensed the emotion this time”

  “That'* good!”

She seems genuinely ecstatic. Jophiel has been gradually getting better at telepathy, even idle, lingering thoughts are broadcasted to him when she's not meaning it.

“Now you can yell at me in 4k”

  “... I woul*’nt do tha*...”

“Do you want me to teach you how to swim ter?”

She huffs quietly but a smile graces up her lips.

  “I woul* lik* th*t”

  …

“Okay and holy shit that's far”

Joshua has used up all his sbs, and despite being over a hundred feet offshore he cannot see any other forms of nd.

  “W*w…”

“Holy shmoley! We're so far out! Wooowwww~”

  “...holy shmoley?...”

  “Yep!”

For a horse made out of anthrax she's very cute when she smiles.

Joshua looks out over the horizon, sun still early set in the day, hopefully finding the signal won't take so long.

“By the way, is the signal still straight out or do we need to turn?” He asks the hazmat horse.

“Oh! We passed it a while ago!”

  “...”

  Joshua turns to her.

  Jophiel turns to her.

Gabriel tilts her head with a confused smile on her face at their ft gazes.

Joshua massages his temples, taking deep, calming breaths.

Despite him wanting to chew her out, he won't. While this may be the Pinkest thing Pink Horse has done so far, she's not to bme, being Pink was not her choice.

  “Lord give me patience”
