Lord Corvais watched in horror, his complexion pale as can be the city below him burn-ing brightly. How, how had he missed this? He thought it had been all under his watch. Lord Corvais turned from his balcony trying to come up with some with some way to explain what had just happened to those that had helped him finance everything but then let out a bitter laugh choked with hysteria. He would at best be a family member to a traitor and, at worst, hung in her stead. It was as he was rushing to help deal with the fires that his daughter had started he remembered Bella had left the school manual on his desk, hoping to at least capitalize. Upon striding over to his desk, he tore open the package that contained his daughter's book, along with a letter on the inside. Annoyed at the reminder of his predicament, Lord Corvais tossed the book aside and ripped open the letter to read its contents.

Dearest Father,
If you are reading this, then you now know the truth of my plan. It was never about building a school. It was about gaining my freedom. Living under your roof has grown so intolerable that I would risk being hanged for attacks against the guilds than live one moment longer with you or help you in any fashion or risk such a thing as my marriage, an act of love being squandered on a business deal.
