Madog and Conrad find themselves the victims of a teleportation accident caused by two drunken mages and are pulled into a different world. With the mages dead and unable to speak the local language, they soon find themselves in a caravan of the sick. But sinister forces watch them through inky black eyes of birds, wanting to corrupt them and make them fall into despair. Note, there is violence, and some gore, but not excessively described and not often.
